About UsThe Samaritan Counseling Center of Western Pennsylvania has seven offices located throughout Allegheny, Beaver and Butler Counties. The Center is fully accredited by the Samaritan Institute in Denver, Colorado, which, in turn, is acknowledged by the American Medical Association, The President’s Commission on Mental Health, the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and major church denominations. Our Center strives to provide cost-efficient counseling, education and consultation emphasizing the relationship among body, mind, spirit and community. Our work focuses on bringing the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual dimensions of life into harmonious union. Our mission is to help individuals and families achieve spiritual, emotional and physical well-being through professional psychological counseling and educational programs using the resources of faith. Our holistic approach to healing, which acknowledges the relatedness of body, mind and spirit, is the hallmark of our counseling. We seek more than relief of symptoms for our clients, helping them discover the factors in their lives which prevent them from becoming the people God intended them to be. The programs at The Samaritan Counseling Center of Western Pennsylvania are designed to work independently or in combination. These allow us to offer varied affordable and professional care without compromising quality, regardless of the client’s ability to pay. Many of our services are covered by health insurance; adjusted fees based on income may also be arranged. Our Center is a faith based, non-profit organization funded by fees for services and by contributions from churches, businesses, individuals and foundations. We believe that effective counseling takes place in a trusting relationship between client and counselor. Our therapists are caring professionals; they are all state licensed and/or certified by a professional organization, have one or more Masters Degrees, pursue continuing education, peer review and receive ongoing supervision. Our Center provides one-on-one counseling for adults, children, adolescents, couples and families. In addition, we offer spiritual direction, grief support services, group seminars and retreats. We will be happy to arrange a convenient appointment after assessing your particular concerns and ways in which we may assist you. Learn more at our information page. |
