Deborah Volek, M.A., L.P.C.
Deborah Volek, Administrative Director, is also a licensed professional counselor who counseled families, couples, individuals and youth as a member of our counseling staff prior to her promotion. She completed her master of art degree at West Virginia University and has an undergraduate degree in education from West Virginia University.
As Samaritan's Administrative Director, Deborah oversees the organization's office operations and assists the Executive Director with overall administration of the Center. Additionally, she supervises the insurance specialist and intake coordinator.
Before coming to Samaritan Counseling, Deborah worked with families and couples doing in-home, family-based therapy throughout Allegheny County. Additionally, she has worked with children in schools and residential treatment facilities. Furthermore, Volek has a background in administration, having been a house director where she was in charge of the daily operations of a dormitory, the students who resided there and student workers.
"I am so excited to be the new Administrative Director at Samaritan Counseling Center," said Volek. "Samaritan is a faith-based organization that helps others reach their full potential in body, mind, and spirit. The spiritual aspect, or serving God, is the most important thing in my life. Samaritan Counseling allows me to blend my desire to grow as a Christian with my professional strengths. For me, Samaritan Counseling captures what Betty Bender also found important in her work, 'When people go to work, they shouldn't have to leave their hearts at home.'"
Deborah has belonged to the American Counseling Association. She resides with her husband and two sons in Moon Township.
