Art was born in San Francisco and spent his early years in the bay area. He holds engineering degrees from the University of Maine and the University of Colorado. After 23 years in engineering management, he is now 21 years into his second career as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley.

​

Art and his wife, Vicki, recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary, and they have both been residents of Sewickley for over 30 years. They are active members of the Sewickley Presbyterian Church, and they enjoy dogs, animal rescue, kayaking, National Parks, gardening, and cooking.

Art offers the following commentary: "In the photo above/left, I can be seen consulting with taste tester and good friend, Angus. My use of a third party subject matter expert has some of the culinary competitors crying foul. So far, however, the judges have not found any basis for disqualification.
