Jamie Mehok, MA, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Jamie joined our team in 2018 as one of our adolescent and young adult counselors. Coming from a background of family-based therapy at Pressley Ridge, as well as working with college students and young adults at Grove City College, she has a wide range of knowledge and experience in working with those who are struggling. Jamie is certified in SOGIE and understands that someone’s sexual orientation and gender identity expression is not contingent on their mental health, but rather enhances who they are as a person.
Jamie graduated with her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Geneva College in 2016, and received her LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) credentials in 2018. Prior to Geneva, Jamie worked as a missionary in New Orleans as well as Staten Island after graduating from Moody Bible Institute in Spokane, Washington. Jamie loves getting to know the depths of each person’s story, and is honored to be someone who has the chance to walk beside those in her care.
Jamie takes an individualistic approach to therapy, knowing that not everyone can fit into the same mold. Working side-by-side with her client, Jamie supports him/her by coming up with measurable and obtainable goals, as well as incorporating spirituality and faith wherever the client desires. “I love learning from my clients on how they view the world, as well as the truths that they hold dear to their hearts.”
Jamie’s heart is mainly for children (age 6+), adolescents, and young adults, but she also sees adults occasionally. Jamie works with parents whose children have a variety of diagnoses including: Reactive Attachment Disorder, Eating Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Self-Harm and Suicidal Ideation, and Blended Families.
In addition to counseling, Jamie hosts therapy groups for adolescents, presents various programs for community and church groups, and serves as Samaritan’s liaison to Youth Connect.
