Dr. Ken McCurdy is licensed as a counselor in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York, as well as being a Nationally Certified Counselor. He works extensively with adults, couples, families, and young people. Dr. Ken has experience treating a broad range of diagnoses and issues. He utilizes expressive and creative approaches to help people better understand their unique place in the world. Ultimately, clients are better able to achieve life tasks and goals.


Dr. Ken shares: “I utilize Adlerian Psychology and creative/expressive arts to assist my clients to better understand themselves, where they are at in life, and to identify pathways to achieve their life tasks and goals. We are often hindered in our growth and development because of past trauma, discouragement and feelings of inadequacy. Through a collaborative treatment approach, I serve as a “Roadside Assistant” for my clients as they travers though their life journey.”


Dr. Ken earned his Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Ohio University. He also earned his Masters Degree in Community Counseling from the University of Scranton. Dr. Ken was awarded a Certificate of Study in Adlerian Psychology from the North American Society for Adlerian Psychology. He is also credentialed as a Disaster Mental Health Counselor with the American Red Cross and has the Approved Clinical Supervisor credential from the National Board for Certified Counselors. Dr. Ken is also a Counselor Educator, training masters level counselors for over 20 years. He is currently a Professor of Counseling, Chair and Program Director of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Thiel College.
