Grasping Group Leadership
Led by The Rev. Dr. N. Graham Standish, PhD, MSW, MA, MDiv
Ministry is mostly about leading groups. Wherever a pastor turns, there’s another group to be led. Yet most pastors, and lay leaders, have not been trained in group leadership, nor in distinguishing the different dynamics of leading a support group, a small group, or a board or committee. Each one requires a different kind of leadership.
Samaritan Counseling, Guidance, Consulting’s three-session workshop will help you become a better, more adaptive leader in the different kinds of groups.
You will learn how to:
Listen, summarize, interpret, and reframe in a support-style group setting.
Encourage discussion, clarify, teach and foster growth in a growth-style group.
Develop cohesion and commitment, overcome conflict, and encourage consensus in boards, committees, task forces, and teams.
The workshop combines conceptual learning and guided practice. You will learn psychological, social, and spiritual techniques for healthy group interaction and growth.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Pastors, Ministry Lay Leaders
