Don Coleman, MDiv
Spiritual Director, Clergy Coach
Rev. Coleman sees lay people and pastors at his church office at 112 W. Pike Street in Canonsburg, PA. He also works with people virtually, which allows him to serve clients across the U.S.
“I am particularly passionate about people and helping them discover and grow their faith.” — Rev. Don Coleman

Rev. Don Coleman serves as a spiritual director and clergy coach through Samaritan’s Caring for Clergy and Congregations program. Apart from Samaritan, he pastors Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, where he has led and grown his ministry since April 2014.
Through spiritual direction, Don helps lay people and pastors draw nearer to God, and recognize and respond to God’s presence in their everyday lives, including times of transition or doubt. Through clergy coaching, he helps pastors strengthen their leadership, clarify their vision, and navigate vocational challenges by identifying and pursuing meaningful goals.
A native Canadian, Don heard God’s call to leave home and attend Roberts Wesleyan College outside Rochester, NY. It was there, in the midst of studying, running track and worshipping that he met and fell in love with Bridgette. They married and moved to Los Angeles, CA, where God’s call led him to serve in Youth Ministry at Bel Air Presbyterian Church. After four years, the couple moved to New Jersey where he attended Princeton Theological Seminary.

Don’s first call was as an Associate Pastor for Adult Discipleship, Missions and Membership at Liberty Presbyterian Church in Delaware, OH. In February of 2014, he accepted the call to pastor Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church in Pennsylvania.
While Don was on Sabbatical on the Island of Iona, Scotland, the whisper of God about spiritual direction came into focus for him through the warm welcome of an old colleague and mentor. He completed a two-year certification program with Christian Formation and Direction Ministries of Southern California in 2025 and provides spiritual direction for both lay people and clergy members. While having a special heart for leaders seeking to serve the church and hear God’s voice amid the noise of ministry, he is just as honored and impassioned to walk alongside anyone who desires to deepen his or her relationship with God. “I listen to God with those I serve and help shed light on what we see and hear together,” he shares.
Don and Bridgette have three children: Brennan, Aidan, and Bria. As a family, they love to watch good movies and television shows, cook up “fun food” in the kitchen, and head outdoors for sports and adventure.
