About Samaritan Counseling, Guidance, Consulting
Mission
For those who are struggling with emotional, relational, or spiritual pain, Samaritan helps them to heal, find hope, and achieve life-changing growth.

Overview
Founded in 1982, Samaritan Counseling, Guidance, Consulting is a 501c3 nonprofit that provides faith-based psychotherapy to 1,400+ adults and children annually. Therapy is offered virtually and in-person at seven locations in four Western PA counties: Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, and Washington. Samaritan's main office is located in Allegheny County at 202 Beaver Street, 3rd Floor, in Sewickley. Samaritan also offers educational programs, life coaching, specialized groups, spiritual direction, and services for clergy and congregations. All staff are certified/credentialed in their respective areas.
Samaritan is nationally accredited through the Solihten Institute in Denver, CO, which is endorsed by the American Medical Association and most major religious denominations.
Samaritan is sustained by fees for services (mainly insurance reimbursements), foundation grants, and donations from individuals, churches, and businesses.
Samaritan serves all people without discriminating on any basis, accepts most major health insurances, and offers fee subsidies through its Samaritan Cares fund for clients who lack the resources to pay. Implementing the best available clinical practices, therapists are state-licensed and experienced in a wide range of diagnoses, treatment methods, and diverse populations. The faith or spiritual aspect of treatment is client-driven, which means that staff do not impose their own or any other beliefs on their clients. Staff participate in regular training sessions on faith-integration therapy in addition to state-required clinical education courses.
