Samantha Baillie, PhD, MA, LPC

Clinical Director

A licensed professional counselor, Samantha (Sam) Baillie joined Samaritan's administrative team in August 2024 as clinical director. In her role, Sam supervises our therapists and oversees clinical policies, procedures, and compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring that operations adhere to the highest standards of care. A key part of her role includes fostering a workplace environment  where therapists are continually motivated and energized with a sense of work/life balance, and the freedom to continually learn, grow, and collaborate with their peers. Additionally, Sam carries her own client caseload.

Born and raised in the suburbs north of Pittsburgh, Sam has worked in the mental health field since 2004, becoming a licensed professional counselor in 2013. She first started working as a therapeutic staff support for Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic after finishing her bachelor's degree in psychology at LaRoche College. She went on to earn her MA in Community Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Sam has worked in a variety of outpatient settings, including drug and alcohol and child and family. She spent a chapter of her career as a clinical supervisor in a family based autism program for a smaller non-profit before deciding to go back to school to pursue her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. After finishing her PhD, she worked as a licensed professional counselor with the Cognitive Behavior Institute in Cranberry Township. Sam has extensive experience working with clients who have autism as well as those impacted by perinatal mental health disorders (pre-conception, pregnancy and post pregnancy related mental health disorders). She has also been an adjunct faculty member at IUP and Central Michigan University, teaching in counseling-related areas.

Sam has a background in supervision through her PhD, her certification as an approved clinical supervisor, and as a clinical supervisor in a family-based autism program, as well as having had a private practice in individual and group licensure supervision for clinicians actively pursuing licensure. She has worked in both the for-profit and non-profit counseling worlds, having worked for Cognitive Behavioral Institute, Every Child Inc., Family Psychological Associates, Curran-Seely Foundation, Peak Wellness Center, and Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic.

Sam is married to a licensed professional counselor; the couple has two children and three rescue dogs. She enjoys hiking and backpacking, riding her bike, being outside in any capacity, and spending time with her family.
