Joining Samaritan Counseling, Guidance, Consulting in December of 2020, Licensed Professional Counselor Sean Monger brings a clinical background rich in child and family therapy. At Samaritan, Sean continues to counsel children, teens, and families as well as individual adults.

​

His experience includes working at Pressley Ridge Family-Based Mental Health Services in Washington, PA, where he provided family therapy to manage crises and prevent out-of-home placements. He helped families find and use their strengths to face challenges in areas such as anxiety, trauma, attachment, and autism. His work also included collaboration with other mental health professionals and Child and Youth Services. During his time at Pressley Ridge, Sean completed a three-year training program through WPIC in Eco-systemic Structural Family Therapy, earning certification for structural family therapy for Family Based Mental Health Services.

Prior to serving at Pressley Ridge, Sean worked at Jefferson Behavioral Health Systems Youth Day Treatment in Mingo Junction, OH, as a Child/Adolescent Day Treatment Counselor. There he counseled troubled youth through psycho-educational, goal-setting, and process groups.

​

Sean earned his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Steubenville, OH in 2014. He also has a Bachelor of Arts degree, double majoring in Theology and Mental Health and Human Services.

​

Sean provides compassionate care for his clients via video therapy. He will see clients in-person at Samaritan's Washington and Upper St. Clair offices in compliance with Pennsylvania's healthcare mitigation guidelines.

​

Sean is married and is a father of three. He enjoys board games and movie nights with his family.
