Teletherapy

Using the Laptop

Over half of Samaritan's clients opt for teletherapy (online counseling). Our therapists are trained and experienced in teletherapy and will advise you and answer any questions you might have. Teletherapy is quite popular and is a great choice for you if:

  • Traveling to and from counseling sessions is inconvenient or difficult.

  • You feel more comfortable receiving counseling in the privacy of your own home.

  • You have internet, a computer, web cam and microphone, or iPhone, iPad, or Android phone.

  • You are 18 years of age or older and reside any where in Pennsylvania.

Teletherapy has been around since the 1990s and studies have shown it to be just as effective as in-person therapy and is easy to use. Since the pandemic, most major health insurances began covering teletherapy. At Samaritan, we offer teletherapy through a secure online video conferencing platform. Using HIPAA compliant, encryption software ensures the confidentiality of your sessions.

We also recommend that you choose a unique password, log off your computer at the end of every session, and establish a private, sound-proof area of your home.
